She was returning from work at a local Macdonald outlet at Forest Hills when a silver coloured van ran hit her and sped away.
When brought to North Shore University hospital, she was pronounced dead.
“My mother could have been saved, if the driver had carried her to the hospital instead of speeding away,” said son Faisal Reaz , with whom Nishat lived at his Jackson Heights apartment.
