Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana made the disclosure at an online briefing on Sunday.
She also said as many as 177 people have died in the country so far while 9,455 people test positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to extend general holiday till 16 May to tackle coronavirus which has already claimed 177 lives.
DGHS official said as many as 1,063 patients have so far recovered from coronavirus in the country.
Nasima Sultana said a total of 5,368 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 665 were diagnosed with coronavirus.
On the previous day, a total of 5,827 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 552 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
