Former president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury has urged the prime minister to form a national government to overcome the country’s ‘current critical condition’.
“It won’t work if you remain in sleep. You’ve to shun one-eyed policy and form a national government to come out of the country’s current critical condition,” the Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) chief told a discussion on Sunday.
B Chowdhury, however said the MPs of the current parliament who are elected without people’s votes cannot be included in the national government.

He also said the national government will have to constitute with the MPs of 9th parliament and good people from other political parties and professionals.

The discussion was arranged at the BDB chief’s Baridhara residence marking his 85th birthday.

He called upon the government to come up with a clear statement whether there is the existence of militant outfit IS in the country or not.

The BDB president alleged that Bangladesh’s cricket which earned reputation is now at stake as various plots are on to tarnish its image like Pakistan. “What will be the status of our cricket if we have to play matches going to Dubai?”

Despite having various political achievements, B Chowdhury lamented, “We didn’t get democracy. People can’t cast their votes. The current regime is running the country with the votes of the country’s only five percent people.”

He also alleged that the country’s law and order is in a bad shape as there is no rule of law.

The BDB chief voiced frustration as no one of those involved in the murders of two foreigners could not be arrested yet.

He also urged the responsible persons of the government not to make any comment over the under-investigation matters for the sake of a fair probe. ”If the prime minister, her son and ministers say BNP and Jamaat are behind the murders before any police probe then what will the police do? Let police do their own jobs.
