Responding to a Facebook post by former interim government adviser Mahfuj Alam last night (19 May), Dr Asif Nazrul said the Awami League had not “returned” because it “was always there.”
“What returned was their arrogance, falsehoods, and audacity to mislead people,” the former law adviser wrote in a Facebook post this afternoon (20 May).
The remarks came after Mahfuj Alam said in a Facebook post that the Awami League had “come back” into Bangladesh’s political landscape.
In the lengthy post, Mahfuj wrote: “The AL is a theology before it is a political party, and faith in that theology has returned. Today I will tell the story of how it returned.”
He then laid out an extensive list explaining why, in his view, the Awami League had made a comeback.
