Ashraf rules out possibility of dialogue

Describing the BNP-Jamaat alliance as killers and terrorists, Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Friday night ruled out the possibility of holding any dialogue with the 20-party combine.

“There’ll be no dialogue with killers and terrorists,” he said emerging from the Awami League Central Working Committee meeting.

The meeting was held at the Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Ganobhaban. The Prime Minister presided over the meeting.

Syed Ashraf, also the LGRD and Cooperatives Minister, said the government will take stern actions against the anarchists maintaining a tough stance.

He also questioned the logic behind the ongoing movement of the BNP-led 20-party alliance. “Their demand is neither any midterm election nor non-party government. They just want to make Bangladesh countries like Lebanon or Syria.”

Apart from discussing the country’s current political situation, the ALCWC meeting chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the International Mother Language Day and Amar Ekushey February.
