A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrants against 34 leaders and activists of BNP in a case filed for torching a vehicle in Dhaka’s Paltan area in January 2015.
The accused include: Barkatullah Bulu, Selima Rahman, Faruk Kamal Khan, Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Azizul Bari Helal and Mir Sarafat Ali Safu.

After accepting charges against 47 including the 34 people, Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla of Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court issued the warrant showing them fugitive.
The court directed the officer-in-charge (OC) of Paltan Model Police Station to submit the execution report of arrest warrants before it by April 5.
BNP leaders MK Anwar, Amanullah Aman, Rizvi Ahmed, Shawkat Mahmud among 13 people are now on bail.
According to the prosecution, a group of BNP-led 20-party alliance activists and supporters brought out a procession and set fire to a taxicab in front of Rokeya Mansion in the city’s Purana Paltan area around 7:45pm on Jan 24, 2015.
