Finance minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith on Wednesday termed BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia a ‘stupid leader’ for her anti-state activities.
The country has advanced economically in 2014, but Khaleda Zia does not like the fact. She is trying to destroy the country, said the finance minister.
Muhith made the remark at the inauguration of the Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG)-2015 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
Pointing at BNP, Muhith said a political party is trying to ruin the future of the country. However, he ‘strongly believes’ things will be under control within ‘no time’.
Bangladesh Textile Mills Association along with the Taiwan’s Chang Chaw Int’l and Yorker’s Trade and Marketing Service of Hong Kong organised the four-day exhibition to introduce modern technology to the entrepreneurs and make these equipment available in the local markets.
A total of 880 organisations from 33 countries are participating in the 12th DTG-2015 where a total of 1,060 booths have been setup in 16 halls.
The exhibition will continue till Saturday from 12pm to 8pm daily.
Textile minister Emajuddin Pramanik, FBCCI president Kazi Ekram Uddin Ahmed, BTMA president Tapan Chowdhury, BGMEA president Atiqul Islam, and BKMA vice president Aslam Sunny also spoke at the programme.
