The hawkers’ strike in Khulna has left the people of the district without national newspaper for six days.
Hawkers went stopped distributing national newspapers since June 30 following a dispute with the newspaper agents over payments.
However, agents are bringing some newspapers from the capital. But, they could not supply those in the district town and upazilas on obstruction of the hawkers.
The representatives of newspaper agents, hawkers and bureau chiefs sat in a meeting on Saturday in presence of Khulna 2 constituency lawmaker, Mizanur Rahman Mizan.
All of them have come to an understanding in the meeting.
Mizanur Rahman said, the dispute between the hawkers and agents would have to be resolved through mutual understanding.
“Hawkers can take newspapers as payable from the agents. They will pay the due price by the 16th day of next month,” said the lawmaker
