BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia visited the grave of her husband and party founder Zaiur Rahman at Sher-e-Banglanagar in the city on Friday night on the occasion of holy Shab-e-Barat.
On her arrival at the mazar around 8 pm, Khaleda also joined a milad mahfil arranged by Jatiyatabadbi Ulema Dal on the grave premises.
Besides, the former prime minister joined a special munajat conducted by Ulema Dal president Hafez Abdul Malek.
She prayed for salvation of the departed soul of her husband, and wished peace and prosperity and progress of the country and wellbeing of its people.
BNP leaders Mirza Abbas, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Moazzem Hossain Alal, Barkatullah Bulu, Abdus Salam, Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel and Khairul Kabir Khokan were, among others, present.
