Family members of former BNP information and research affairs secretary Ehsanul Kabir on Tuesday alleged that a team of elite force Rab picked him up from his Baridhara residence on Monday night.
Kabir’s wife Nasrin Begum told reporters that the Rab members had been at their residence around 12:30am and picked her husband up.
“The law enforcers also took away his cellphone set,” she alleged.
Nasrin said the Rab members told her that they were taking Kabir to Rab-1 headquarters, but his whereabouts remained unknown since then.
She also alleged that Gulshan Police Station refused to file a general diary in this regard.
Kabir had worked as BNP information and research affairs secretary and assistant office secretary for a long time.
After 1996, he also discharged his duties as BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s press secretary.
Kabir, however, became inactive in politics after the 1\11 changeover in 2007.
