Injured people rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital
No fewer than nine people have sustained burn injuries as an empty tanker of Jamuna oil depot went up in flames on Friday at Patenga area of Chittagong.
The fire which started at around 6:20pm and raged till 6.50pm was said to have been caused due to a welding work on a tanker. While welding work was being carried out, sparks started the fire at an octane store in the area, leaving nine people burnt.
EPZ fire station officer Md Baharuddin confirmed the Dhaka Tribune of the incident.
Later, two units of fire fighters tamed the blaze after half an hour long effort, he said.
Injured people were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital and later admitted to the burn unit.
