7 Bangladeshis hurt in Beirut blasts

At least seven Bangladeshis sustained injuries in yesterday’s bomb blasts near the Iranian embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed at least 23 people, a Foreign Ministry official said. 

Condition of one of the injured was critical, Shameem Ahsan, director general of the Foreign Ministry’s External Affairs Wing confirmed the media today.

The victims were admitted to local hospital in Beirut, he said adding that the Bangladesh embassy in Beirut is keeping contact with the injured.

But the details of the injured could not be known immediately, he said.

According to the Lebanese media, at least 23 people were killed in the incident that also damaged the structures near the compound.

Tuesday’s blast was the third of its kind that rocked Beirut’s Dahyieh in the last five months.
