Walton Service Management System (WSMS) is going to provide practical trainings to over 300 diploma engineers of different private and public polytechnic institutes through internship programme under ‘Industrial Attachment’ course.
It was disclosed at the “Industrial Attachment Orientation Programme for Diploma in Engineering Students of 2016” at a local restaurant in the capital on Wednesday.
Walton Group’s executive director and head of policy, HRM and admin SM Zahid Hasan inaugurated the internship programme as the chief guest while group’s senior operative director Mahmudul Hasan, additional director and WSMS head Md Neamul Haque, senior assistant director and head of WSMS HRM and admin SM Nasir Uddin, other departmental heads and some 100 interns were present.
The country’s ISO certified Walton Service Management will providehigher vocational trainings to the interns with latest technologies, machineries and skilled engineers under its three-month long internship programme, which will begin on 13 August and continue till
15 November.
During the internship period, the interns will gather practical experience on the technical sides of different electronics, electrical and automobile appliances like fridge, television, motorcycle, air conditioner, mobile phone and other electronics and electrical home and kitchen appliances.
The WSMS officials informed that a total of 110 and 194 diploma engineers received internship certificates from Walton Service Management in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
This year, more than 500 diploma engineers applied for completing their Industrial Attachment course at Walton, of them 320 are selected by the WSMS.
The interns will complete their internship programme at the Walton’s 62 service centres across the country.
