Three independent lawmakers from reserved women’s seat have joined the ruling party Awami League.
The lawmakers are Kazi Rosy, Nur Jahan Begum and Umme Rajiya Kajal.
They were elected by nominations from independent lawmakers’ alliance and now enlisted as ruling party lawmakers from the third session of Parliament.
Secretary for Parliament Secretariat Ashraful Maqbul endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
“A letter, containing their application forms, has been sent to the election commission on August 28 and the EC received it on August 31.”
Of the 50 reserved women seats, the tenth parliament has 39 lawmakers from the Awami League, one each from the Bangladesh Workers’ Party and JSD and five Jatiya Party lawmakers.
