Lalmonirhat, Mar 16 (UNB) – Two minor girls were raped allegedly by identified local criminals in Kaliganj and Patgram upazilas within a span of 10 hours on Friday.
In Kaliganj, the school-going daughter, 13, of Haidar Ali, a van-puller of Char Shankar village, was waylaid and kidnapped, allegedly by neighbour Anwar, on way to her private tutor on Friday morning. The criminal dragged her to a bamboo cluster and raped her there, leaving her injured.
Hearing hue and cry, locals rescued her and rushed her to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
About 10 hours earlier, two local miscreants, Khorshed Alam, 23, and Mostakin, 24, of Khengti village of Patgram municipal area, kidnapped Yusuf Ali`s daughter, 15, when she went to the lavatory across the compound of her house at night, and took her to a maize field at the village and raped her there after tying her hands, leaving her injured.
Hearing her cry for help, locals rushed in and rescued the hapless girl.
OC of Patgram Police Station Farid Uddin said, a case was filed in this connection on Friday night.
Witnesses said, rapists Khorshed and Mostakim are the sons of Afsar Uddin and Rahman Munshi respectively.
OC Farid said, a drive is on-going to arrest them.
