The first board meeting of the India-Bangladesh Foundation was held here on Saturday.
The Foundation was established in pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and Bangladesh on February 16, said a media release issued on Monday.
The board meeting was co-chaired by High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran and High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India Tarik A Karim.
The Board members who attended the meeting included Prof Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury, Vice Chancellor, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata; Prof Muhammad Samad, Vice Chancellor, University of Information and Technology and Science, Dhaka and Samsuzzaman Khan, Director General, Bangla Academy, Dhaka.
The Foundation has invited proposals from individuals and institutions for limited funding.
