At least 10 people were killed and 30 injured in a fire at a two-storey residential building in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, early Friday.
Officials at Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabisaid it could not be ascertained immediately if there were any Bangladeshis among the deceased as the bodies were charred beyond recognition.

However, they added, at least three Bangladeshis – Selim, Abdus Shukur and Enamul – remained missing.
The officials meanwhile confirmed that at least four Bangladeshis were among the injured.
Around 40 Bangladeshi people along with some Indians, Pakistanis, Syrians and some other countries used to live in the building, they said.

The building housed a tyre store from where the fire might have originated, Arman Ullah Chowdhury, counselor (labour wing) at the embassy, told The Daily Star over phone.
The fire broke out around 4:00am (local time) and the firefighters have already doused the blaze.
Arman said DNA tests would be carried out to identify the bodies.
“We have known that at least four Bangladeshis were injured in the fire. Of them, two are still undergoing treatment at a local hospital,while two others have already left the hospital after taking treatment,” Arman added.
Two injured Bangladeshis were identified as Zakir Alam and Md Azam, he informed.
He said Bangladesh embassy officials had visited the scene and hospitals.
