Teachers’ problems to be solved soon: Education Minister

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government is sincerely working on resolving the discrimination and problem of teachers over the new pay scale.

The minister said the new solution will enhance their professional dignity of the teachers in the society.

“I am very much optimistic of solving any problem of teachers through discussion,” he told the fourth national teachers’ conference in the auditorium of Ahsanullah Science and Technology University in the capital.

Bangladesh Literacy Association is organizing the two-day national teachers’ conference with the slogan ‘Achieving professional excellence’.

Nahid said a committee for removing salary discrimination of teachers has been formed and it will start working soon.

“Teachers are main driving force of the education sector. We are giving importance to enhance professional dignity by increasing salaries and others facilities,” the minister said.

The education minister urged teachers to perform their duties with honesty and dedication to make sure a congenial academic atmosphere in the educational area.

Vice Chancellor of Ahsanullah Science and Technology Kazi Rafiqul Islam and Executive Director of Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) Rasheda K. Choudhury, among others, addressed the conference with President of the association and Chairman of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Kazi Rafiqul Islam in the chair.
