Padma Oil MD among 91 sued for graft

 

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed three cases against 91 people, including managing director of Padma Oil Company Limited Abul Khaier, on graft charges.

ACC assistant director M Murshed Alam filed the cases against them with Sadargath Police Station in the port city.

According to ACC sources, Abul Khaier and two other officials of the Padma Oil Company in collusion with each other recruited employees to the company illegally.

Managing director Abul Khaier and assistant general manager Rafiqul Hasan were made accused in all the three cases. General manager (Finance) Helal Ahmed Chowdhury is the accused in one case.

Sub-inspector of Sadargath Police Station Ferdous told UNB that three cases were filed against the three top officials of Padma Oil and newly appointed staff on graft charges in the three separate sections.

A total of 67 people were made accused in one case while 19 in other cases and seven in the third case, he said.
