Miscreants at Fatullah in the city on 27 April abducted Narayanganj city councillor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver.

Hours after their abduction, district judge court senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to Dhaka.

Three days into their abduction, the six people’s bodies, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered on the river Shitalakhya and Dhaleshwari on 30 April.

Another body, believed to be of Jahangir, the car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered in the river Shitalakhya on 1 May.
