Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) and Ganatantrik Bam Morcha will enforce a nationwide half-day hartal on January 16 protesting the latest fuel price hike.

CPB and BSD leaders told The Daily Star on Tuesday that they will observe the strike if fuel prices are not reduced by tonight.

The two leaf-leaning parties will made the formal announcement of the hartal from a sit-in to be held at 11:00am on Tuesday in front of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission in the capital.
