Khaleda returns home from S Arabia Tuesday

 

BNP Chairperson and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Khaleda Zia returns home tomorrow (Tuesday) wrapping up her 10-day visit to Saudi Arabia.

The BNP chief is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:40pm in a regular flight of Emirates Airlines, her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel told UNB.

Senior BNP leaders will receive Khaleda at the airport.

Earlier, on Sunday, Khaleda passed the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr at Masjid Al-Haram through special prayers.

The BNP chief also offered a munajat (special prayer) seeking divine blessings as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh, its people and the Muslim Ummah.

The opposition leader went to Saudi Arabia on July 27 at the invitation of the Saudi government.

During her stay in Saudi Arabia, the BNP chief performed holy Umrah, offered ziarat at the holy Rowja Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) and offered special prayers at Masjid Al-Haram.

Besides, the former premier exchanged greetings with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who was also performing Umrah.

Khaleda’s younger brother Shamim Eskander, his wife Kaniz Fatema, private secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed and photographer Nuruddin Ahmed are accompanying the opposition leader.

BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury who was also a member of her entourage returned home on Sunday.
