Khaleda reaches Bogra

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia who is on a two-day tour of Bogra and Joypurhat reached Bogra town on Saturday night.

The BNP chief arrived at Bogra Circuit House around 8:50 pm where she will be staying overnight. Khaleda earlier left Dhaka from her Gulshan residence at 3:55 pm.

The leader of the opposition will visit the violence-hit areas in Bogra and Joypurhat, and meet the families of the victims.

As per the schedule, the opposition leader will move towards Joypurhat at 10:45 am on Sunday.

On her way to Joypurhat, Khaleda will take a break at Matidali (Biman) intersection in Bogra to console the family members of those killed in police firing and address a wayside rally.

Also in Panchbibi upazila in Joypurhat, the former premier will express sympathy to the families of the victims at Shalaipur High School and attend a condolence meeting there.

Later in the day, she will return to Bogra and visit temples that came under attacks by miscreants at Sonarai union under Gabtali upazila.

During her stay in Bogra, Khaleda will go to the house of late Afizuddin at Rameshwarpur union to console the bereaved families of those killed in police firing.

Besides, she will talk to the families of the victims at Aria Bazar School ground in Shahjahanpur upazila, and join a condolence meeting there.

Khaleda is scheduled to return to the capital on Sunday.

Scores of people were killed in the recent violence erupted following the February 28 judgment of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 against Jamaat-e-Islami nayeb-e-ameer Delwar Hossain Sayedee awarding him death penalty for his crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.
