Jatiya Party to take BNP’s place: Ershad

Ershad-BNP

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Tuesday said his party will replace BNP and go to power wining the next general election.

“BNP has got unnerved as they’re in leadership crisis. We’ll be there in BNP’s position in politics in the future. We’ll also assume office winning the next election,” he said.

The ex-military ruler made the remarks while addressing the projection meeting of the new committee of Jatiya Chhatra Samaj at the city’s BMA auditorium.

Ershad said the country’s people got fed up with the two main parties – Awami League and BNP — and their chiefs. “People want to get rid of them. We’ll take part in the next polls and save the country from the hands of the two parties.”

The Jatiya Party chief also criticised the leaders of Awami League and BNP for calling him autocrat. “They call me autocrat, but they couldn’t hold even a single election in any educational institution by forming ‘democratic governments’.”

He said the country’s people are going through immense ordeals for lack of jobs and due to misrule and injustice.  “I’ve given a 3-J theory, Jatiya Party, jobs and justice. There’s no job for people. Law is not equal for all. “The voice of justice is now weeping in the wilderness. So, we need to go to power to achieve the 3Js,” Ershad said.

Pointing at the party leaders and activists, he said his party wants to build up new leadership. “The ground is ready, we have to act now and harvest the positive outcomes.”
