Islamic University bans politics

The authority has announced opening the university on Tuesday

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) have banned all kinds of political activities on the campus for an indefinite period.

The decision was taken at an urgent meeting of the university syndicate at 11am on Monday, said IU Proctor Professor Dr Mahbubur Rahman.

He said the ban was imposed in order to avert further untoward situation.

“The authority has banned all kinds of political activities, including processions, rallies, meetings, on the campus for an indefinite period in order to keep the environment of the university normal.”

The authority has announced opening the university on Tuesday, after a 15-day closure following a clash between the police and the BCL members.
