BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s statement has been provoking “extrajudicial killing” across the country.

The BNP spokesperson made the allegation while addressing a discussion at Nayapaltan on Friday afternoon.

He said the prime minister has to face accountability one day for such “provocation.”

“Everyday opposition leaders and activists are being killed without any trial. Regarding the issue, the prime minister in the parliament entertained the extrajudicial killing by calling it self-defence,” Fakhrul said.

The BNP was critical over the “extrajudicial killings” and the party chief also demanded effective steps by the United Nations towards stopping such killing while the prime minister, in parliament, said those who were detained in the drives made by the joint forces are identified criminals.

Fakhrul claimed that the body of a BNP activist was found in Sirajganj and that law enforcers had picked hi up from the capital’s High Court area.

“A few days earlier, RAB picked up a BNP leader of Lakshmipur. He was also killed without any trial. Those who were arrested on attacking Asaduzzaman Noor’s motorcade in Nilphamari, law enforcers also killed them without any trial,” he said.
