Ittefaq Report

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said the current government is worse than that of 1/11 army-backed caretaker government.

He claimed that this government is snatching the basic rights of the people of the country.

“1/11 government was illegal and that had imprisoned our leader (Khaleda) through conspiracy. But the current fascist government is worse than them (1/11 regime),” said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir after attending a milad mahfil at party’s Nayapaltan headquarters, marking party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s 74th birthday.

Fakhrul also urged party leaders and activists to conduct movements, even if that place their lives in a risk, to force the government to free their chairperson Khaleda Zia who is currently in jail.

“As a political party, it is our duty to restore democracy, people’s rights, and free Khaleda Zia,” Fakhrul remarked.

Later on, Fakhrul also pointed towards the government’s action in road-safety movements of the students as he said “The government brutally repressed the students’ non-political movement. Students are being arrested and picked up. Even, girls are not spared.”
