The Dhaka city unit of BNP on Thursday announced protest rallies in every wards of the city demanding Salahuddin’s ‘return’.

The announcement came through a statement signed by city BNP convener Mirza Abbas and member secretary Habib un Nabi Sohel.

The statement also urged the ‘concerned citizens’ to join the programme along with the activists.

The statement said the people of the country is concerned and worried over the news of ‘missing’ Salahuddin as government or any law enforcement agencies did not acknowledge the arrest after 10 days of the incident.

According to the law-enforcement agencies’ reports submitted to the attorney general’s office, none of the agencies arrested BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed and they do not know his whereabouts. They have been trying to find him out and the search drive is still on, the reports added.

Hasina Ahmed, wife of Salahuddin, on March 12 moved the High Court to seek remedy claiming that the law enforcers in plainclothes picked her husband up from an Uttara house in the capital on March 10 night and yet to hand him over to any police station.
