BSF picks up Bangladeshi along Kurigram border

A Bangladeshi national was picked up by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from Mollarchar bordering area of Roumari upazila in Kurigram early Friday.

The victim was identified as Azhar Ali, 42, son of Nadu Sheikh of Behular Char village in the upazila, UNB reports.

Locals said a group of 25 Bangladeshis cattle traders went to the bordering area near pillar No. 1061 in the early hours when BSF chased them and picked up Azhar.

“When we contacted BSF over the incident, they said the detained Bangladeshi was handed over to police there,” said Lt Col SM Azad, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion-35.
