BNP suspends Satkhira committee following murder

Opposition BNP on Friday night suspended all the activities of its Satkhira unit committee following a factional clash that left district Matsyajibi Dal president Aman Ullah Aman dead.

The party also formed a three-member committee to look into the incident, BNP office secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told UNB.

Rizvi, however, could not confirm the names of the committee members.

Necessary action will be taken against those responsible for the incident following the recommendations of the probe body, he added.

Aman was killed and 15 people were injured in a clash between the two factions of BNP in Satkhira town around 11 am over taking seat on the podium during a workers’ meeting of the party.

BNP international affairs secretary Nazim Uddin Alam attended the meeting as the chief guest.
