BNP leader Sohrab escapes bomb attack

A bomb thrown on Monday night in Laxmipur Bazar area missed former MP of Kushtia and President of Jatiyatabadi Muktijudhha Dol Sohrab Uddin but ended up injuring some of his companions, says police.

District BNP General Secretary Sohrab alleged it was part of a conspiracy to murder him ahead of the upcoming national elections.

Sohrab has been elected thrice an MP from Kushtia.

Locals say Sohrab, on his way back to Kushtia city from his village Piyarpur, stopped his car at Laxmipur bazar to talk to some party leaders.
