Blogger and writer Avijit Roy has been hacked to death in front of the TSC at Dhaka University on Thursday night.
A witness said Avijit and his wife, Nafiza Ahmed, were severely hacked beside Suhrawardy Udyan by unknown miscreants around 9:15pm.
They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at 10:30pm. His critically injured wife is under treatment at the hospital.
Avijit, son of educationist Ajoy Roy, is the founder of Mukto-mona blog. He wrote about ten books.
The US expatriate couple came to the country a few days ago.
