Unidentified miscreants damaged the grave of former president Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner of Tejgaon division, Wahidul Islam, confirmed the incident on Thursday.
A number of 10 to 12 pieces of marble tiles of the round-shaped shrine of Ziaur Rahman, also the founder of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, were broken and displaced.
‘We are trying to identify the mischief makers,’ Wahidul said.
The security has been beefed up around the grave.
