Bangladesh cricket youngster Mustafizur Rahman has been chosen in the short-list of cricket-based website ESPN Cricinfo’s “Debutant of the Year” title.
The other players in the list are South African Simon Harmar, English Mark Wood, Sam Billings and David Willy, Pakistani Imad Wasim and Mokhtar Ahmed, Australian Peter Nevil, Sri Lankan Dushmanta Chamira and New Zealander Mitchell Shantona.
The selection of the best debutant cricketer will be done by online voting. ESPNcricinfo welcomes cricket fans across the world to vote online for their favourite candidates in the category.
To vote the left-arm pacer, click on his picture on ESPNcricinfo website, write your name and email address, and make sure your vote counts clicking on “Vote Now” button at the bottom of the page. Name of the winner will be announced in March this year.
The ESPNcricinfo Awards recognise the best individual batting and bowling performances in cricket over the calendar year.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been nominated in the best captain of the year category, Tamim Iqbal in the best Test batting category, Mahmudullah in ODI batting and Rubel Hossain in ODI bowling category.
The fans are not allowed to cast their votes in any of the categories except the “Debutant of the Year.”
