BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged their party leaders and activists to unite putting aside all divisions and conflicts to restore the democratic right of the people.
“There’s no alternative to waging a movement to realize people’s democratic rights. All the political parties and organisations must unite and forge a national unity,” the senior BNP leader said on Sunday.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam came up with the remarks while addressing the triennial conference of Baliadangi upazila unit of BNP at Samiuddin College ground here as chief guest.
He also urged the party leaders and activists to take a vow to remain united for the sake of the country and party.
Turning to the Prime Minister’s upcoming India visit to India, Fakhrul warned that the country’s people will not accept if any deal is signed harming the interests of the country and people.
The BNP leader also alleged that Awami League government never made public the deals it signed with foreign countries, including India, violating the constitution.
Explaining his party’s opposition to current Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda, the BNP secretary general said he had been involved with Chhatra League’s politics during his student life.
“He was also in favour of Awami League when he worked as a public servant. He also carried out campaign for Awami League after losing his job,” Fakhrul added.
