A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday visited Comilla Mainamati Cantonment in search of the murder spot of college girl Sohagi Jahan Tonu.
The team has visited two spots.
CID officials said that the investigation team at first visited Coffee House of Comilla Cantonment around 11:00am. Tonu’s father Yar Hossain, who works as an office assistant of Comilla Cantonment Board, met the investigation team there.
The CID team, headed by special police super of the department Abdul Kahar Akand, talked to Tonu’s father.
The team included Nazmul Karim Khan, CID special police super (Comilla) and Gazi Mohammad Ibrahim, investigation officer of the case.
Nazmul Karim Khan told Prothom Alo that they have visited the spot where Tonu’s body was dumped. CID was looking for the exact spot where Tonu was murdered.
Besides, there were three cultural programmes at the cantonment on 18, 20 and 21 March. CID was looking for the people who performed on 20 March’s programme.
Asked about interrogating sergeant Jahid and soldier Jahid, the police super said that they both were quizzed more than once.
Sergeant Jahid is currently being interrogated in Dhaka.
