Gopalganj municipality announced its annual budget amounting to about Tk 45crore for the fiscal year 2013-2014 on Tuesday.
Gopalganj municipality mayor M Rezaul Haque Sikder Raju unveiled the budget at the conference room of the municipality at noon.
The mayor made the budget of the total size of Tk44,43,69,616 public putting surplus Tk1.17 lakh and without imposing any new tax on the service recipients.
‘Supplying clean water, developing drainage system and keeping the town clean have got special focus in the budget which also has special allocation for poor students,’ said mayor Raju.
The mayor also informed journalists that arrangement of housing facilities for the ultra poor by the municipality is about to be completed.
On the occasion, the councillors of the municipality, local elites, journalists and general people were present.
