The PM said this while addressing a function marking the 26th founding anniversary of SSF at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Hasina said public representatives are accountable to people and the SSF should keep vigil so that the people do not get hurt with their behaviour while ensuring security to public representatives.
The PM said the main goal of her politics is to ensure welfare of the common people and asked the SSF to ensure coordination between their duty and the expectation of people.
“My door for all kinds of people, irrespective of being poor or rich, is always open. So your behaviour with them should be up to the mark so that no one is hurt. You’ll have to look after this matter very carefully,” she directed the SSF personnel.
Hasina expressed her hope that the SSF would make their activities more dynamic and time befitting through tough practice, and using their acquired knowledge and experiences.
The advancement of the SSF will continue with their able leadership, appropriate guidelines and professional devotion and sincerity.
She advised them to consider the matters of building strong character, ensure highest discipline, honesty, dutifulness and human qualifications with utmost importance.
Praising the SSF for their loyalty, professionalism and efficiency, Hasina hoped that the members of the SSF will continue to discharge their duties with utmost trustworthiness.
The premier said the type and techniques of militant and terrorist activities have changed across the globe with the flourishing of technology, and terrorists can now carry out their operations from any corner of the world.
“So, the level of security measures has been increased across the world and her government also ensured various facilities, including digital technology for the SSF to modernise the force as well as enhancing their capability,” she added.
Hasina said the National Defence College and Military Institute of Science and Technology and other training institutes have been established to impart training to the military personnel.
She said many foreign trainees are taking part in various training courses at military training institutes of Bangladesh.
Security Adviser to the PM Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Ambassador at-Large M Ziauddin, the chiefs of the three services and Principal Secretary and Press Secretary to the Prime Minister were, among others, present on the occasion.
