Khadiza, younger sister of slain extremist Marzan, surrendered to the law enforcement agency men along with her three children at around 3:00pm on Monday, Azmal Huda, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station confirmed New Age in the afternoon.
The OC told New Age that operation inside Khadiza’s house is on.
The law enforcement agency people, earlier, cordoned off a four- storey building on Nawapara Road suspecting that Khadiza, younger sister of extremist Marzan, is inside it, Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police, Jessore told journalists.
Police and locals told that New Age on suspicion, the Kotwali police confined the four-storey building at Ghope Nawapara Road Jame Mosque since 2:00am on Monday.
Three sisters of former ward councilor of Jessore Municipality- Lovely, Bubli and another whose name was not known are the owners of the pink coloured four-storey building.
Marzan’s younger sister Khadiza reside on the first floor of the building on rent for around one year along with her husband and children.
Her husband works at a herbal medicine company although the name of the company was not known.
Several teams of the police including members of SWAT were carrying out operations at the building, said the superintendent of police.
The SWAT team was seen entering into the by-lane near the four-storey building at 10:10am earlier, Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police, Jessore entered the by-lane at 9:30 am and number of DB men at 9:50am.
Nobody including journalists allowed to enter the by-lane till 11:14am.
The SP called the journalists inside the by-lane at 11:14am and the police were seen announcing by a hand mike to come out of the residence.
The SP said, ‘Khadiza switch on your mobile phone, we want to talk to you.’
‘We want to help you Khadiza,’ he added.
‘Please come out considering the future of your children,’ he continued. But nobody responded from inside the building.
The SP then briefed the journalists that the younger sister of dead extremist Marzan, Khadiza is inside the first floor of the building.
‘We have evacuated five families from the building earlier,’ the SP added.
