Paceman Rubel Hossain returned as Bangladesh on Wednesday named their 14-man squad for the one off Test against India, scheduled next week.
Rubel missed Bangladesh’s previous Test against Pakistan last month due to a side injury and has been cleared to bowl only this week.
He replaced Shahadat Hossain, who has been sidelined for at least six months after injuring his knee in the last Test.
All other players from the Pakistan series have been retained, which means leg-spinner got another chance despite playing no competitive match for the last two months.
‘We retained Jubair because coach and captain requested for him,’ chief selector Faruk Ahmed told at a press conference in Dhaka.
‘They thought he could be useful against India.’
Batsman Litton Kumar Das, who was in the Twenty20 international and Test squad against Pakistan but did not play any game, also has been retained.
Faruk said Litton will provide the cover for Mushfiqur Rahim, who is uncertain to play as a wicketkeeper.
‘Mushfiq’s batting is fine but we are not sure if can do the wicket-keeping job as he has an injury,’ he said.
‘If he cannot play as wicketkeeper, Litton will do the job.’
The only Test match of the series will be held in Fatullah, on the outskirt of capital Dhaka from June 10-14.
India are also scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals during the short tour.
