Register Nazmul Huda’s Trinomul BNP as political party: HC to EC
The High Court today directed the Election Commission to register Trinomul BNP led by former BNP minister Nazmul Huda as a political party.
The bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi came up with the directive after hearing a writ petition filed by Nazmul Huda.
The former BNP leader submitted the petition to the High Court in August this year challenging a decision of the EC that rejected an application filed by Nazmul Huda seeking registration of his party.
The EC on June 14 this year rejected the application saying that he did not submit the application and Chalan for the registration on time.
The HC on August 14 following the writ petition issued a rule asking the Election Commission to explain why it should not be directed to register the Trinomul BNP led by Nazmul Huda as a political party.

Former BNP leader Nazmul Huda announced the formation of the new political party named Trinomul BNP (Grass-root BNP) on November 20, 2015.
Huda, the former BNP vice-chairman, made the announcement at press conference held at a hotel in Dhaka on the day, and in a written statement, he declared himself as the convener of the new political party.
