Rapid Action Battalion recovered arms and ammunition including three AK-22 from a militant training camp at Lotmoni Hill, a remote area under Sadonpur union of Banskhali Upazila in Chittagong early on Sunday.
In an overnight drive that continued till 6am on Sunday, five people were also arrested in connection with militancy.
The arrested persons were identified as Mobasser Hossain, Aminul Islam, Abdul Khaleque, Habibur Rahman and Amir Hossain having the age range from 22 to 25.
Director of legal and media wing of RAB Mufti Mahmud told reporters on the spot that three AK-22, six revolvers, one pistol, two Walki Talki and some 700 rounds of bullet were recovered from den where militant training were given to extremists after their rudimentary training from Hathajari Upazila.
The camp had the façade of an animal farm, he added.
Mufti Mahmud said that videos of successful operations launched by Jihadists across the world used to be shown at the camp to the newcomers to inspire them in militancy.
Local people said that one mysterious Moulana Mobarak securing the lease of the hill in 1991 started the farming of various animals and maintained a distance from neiboughers.
RAB on 19 February arrested 12 persons from a Madrasa of Hathajari Upazila and secured the information of the training camp after interrogating the arrested people.
