A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted parts of the country including the capital last night.
The quake was felt in Dhaka, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Sylhet, Comilla, Gazipur and Brahmanbaria around 10:55pm, said officials of meteorological department.
No casualty was reported till filing of this report at 1:00am today.
The epicentre of the quake was in Monibao of Myanmar, some 430km southeast of Dhaka.
The officials, however, could not give details
