President Abdul Hamid will go to Singapore on Saturday night for follow-up checkup of his eyes at Singapore National Eye Centre.
A regular flight of Singapore Airlines carrying the President will take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:55 pm.
During the tour, Abdul Hamid will also have his medical checkup at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
President’s wife Rashida Khanom, Secretary Monzur Hossain, Military Secretary Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, Private Secretary Sampod Barua and personal physician Brig Gen SM Motaher Hossain will accompany Hamid during the tour.
The President is likely to return home on August 31.

One wonders why our hon’ble President should go abroad just for ‘check-up’ when his party has manned all the hospitals and health complexes with expert and specialist doctors? Are they not trustworthy and dependable then? Have they been posted in those positions just because they would serve the purpose of the ruling party? Or is the lives of millions of people – for whom these doctors and specialists have been posted here and there – carry no value compared to the President/PM or MPs who feign to represent them and call them ‘the owner of the country’, ‘sovereign’ bla bla bla? Very funny indeed!
