Police have claimed to have found the parents of 11-year old Khadiza Khatun Sumi, who has been arrested for her involvement in killing a Special Branch Inspector and his wife.
They have been hiding after the murder, police said.
Detective Branch (DB) police DC Jahangir Hossain Matubbar told bdnews24.com, “We have found her stepfather Nuru Miah and mother Sajeda Aktar Ayesha at Longdu, Rangamati.”
“They are now in Rangamati Sadar. They will be brought to Dhaka for interrogation on Wednesday,” Matubbar said.

Police found dead bodies of SB Inspector Mahfuz Rahman and his wife Swapna Begum from their residence at Chamelibagh on Aug 16.
The couple lived there with daughter Oishee Rahman, son Oihee Rahman and household worker Sumi. Oishee, the prime suspect, turned herself in to the police the next day.
Police later detained Sumi and a friend of Oishee and claimed Oishee had ‘confessed’ to killing her parents and forcing Sumi to help her out.
Both Oishee and Sumi were sent to a Gazipur ‘Kishori Unnayan Kendra’ – a juvenile correction home – after they had reportedly issued confessional statements before a Dhaka court on Aug 24.
Oishee was transferred to the Dhaka Central Jail following a court order on Aug 31 and Sumi is still at the correction home.
