Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban.
This was the first meeting between the President and the Prime Minister after Sheikh Hasina’s cabinet too oath on January 12 following the 10th Parliamentary elections on January 5.
During the 90-minute meeting that started at 4.30 pm, President Abdul Hamid congratulated Sheikh Hasina on becoming the Prime Minister for the third time and wished all-out success of her new government.
The Prime Minister discussed various issues related to the first session of the new parliament that goes into its maiden session on Wednesday.
Earlier, on her arrival at Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister was received by the President.
Later, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury met the President at the Bangabhaban.
The President greeted the Speaker for being elected unopposed as Member of Parliament.
Concerned secretaries to the President office were present.
