Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday evening received the certificate of Guinness World Record for successfully holding of the Lakho Kanthe Sonar Bangla Programme in the capital on March 26 where over 2.50 lakh people sang the national anthem at the national parade ground creating a new Guinness World Record.
Hasina also received another certificate for her participation in the programme.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor handed over the certificates of the Guinness World Record and her participation in the programme to Hasina at her parliament office in the evening.
Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Let Gen Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq was present. The certificates of Guinness World Record will be preserved at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Bangladesh was listed in the Guinness World Record for singing the national anthem by the largest number of people together in Dhaka on March 26.
The Guinness World Record made the announcement on its official website.
“The most people singing a national anthem simultaneously is 254,537 and was achieved by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh at the National Parade Ground in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 26 March 2014,” said the website.
Earlier, the world record of the largest number of people singing the national or regional anthem together belonged to Sahara India Pariwar (India). Some 1.21 lakh people sang the India’s national anthem at that event on May 6, last year in Lucknow.

This lady and cronies are living in a make belief story land. While people are suffering, getting killed by thugs and RAB she is celebrating. This Guiness record has no bearing whatsoever and is not worthy of news.
Could Mr. Noor also bring to her attention of other international achievements of PM Hasina, namely, (i) enabling Bangladesh to win the No 1 corrupt country position in the world (awarded by the Iransparency International) during her 2000-2006 rule; (ii) the rare opportunity of a country ever to be subjected to cancellation of World Bank loan on corruption charges; and (iii) more recently in 2014,creating a world history in “winning” a no-election election and forming government without a democratic legitimacy!
Oh, yes I forggot, Hasina should also be given anoother Guinnes Book accolade for inventing a new kind of democratic government in the world – a government of the chamchas, by the chamchas and for the chamchas!.
These people spent so much of money in this venture – which counts for nothing – instead of rehabilitating the Rana Plaza victims. Now she will give a lecture in the parliament teaching us the virtue of this act …………………………….!!
She should also receive awards for successfully snatching the voting right of the people of Bangladesh. If you are such a champion, why don’t you agree to give an election under a neutral government to see if people vote your party in to power. If not, then you better stop fooling the people.

What she should receive instead is the ‘death warrant’ (political). I call upon the people to unite to oust her without further loss of time.
