Prime minister Sheikh Hasina and president Abdul Hamid on Sunday greeted the Bangladesh cricket team for their historic win against the touring England side in the second Test in Dhaka.
The Tigers clinched the first test victory over England by 108 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here to level the two-match Rocket Test Series 1-1.
In a congratulatory message, Sheikh Hasina greeted all the players, coach and officials of the national team as well as Bangladesh Cricket Board officials concerned for defeating England in the second Test.
‘The whole nation is proud of seeing the team spirit of our players and their tremendous performance,’ PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim quoted the premier as saying.
In a congratulatory message the president also greeted the players, coaches and staff of the national cricket team for their victory.
Abdul Hamid hoped that the trend of Bangladesh’s victory would continue in future.
He also wished continued success of Bangladesh team.
