Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday hosted an iftar party for civil and military officials, diplomats and judges at her official residence Ganobhaban.
The Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their well-being.
Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Moulana Md Salahuddin Ahmed conducted the munajat.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15 massacre, four national leaders, martyrs of the War of Liberation and heroes of democratic movements.f
Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad and Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission Dr Mizanur Rahman joined the ifter.
Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Home Minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir and State Minister for Law advocate Quamrul Islam were present.
Prime Minister’s advisers HT Imam, Dr Gowher Rizvi and Maj Gen (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui, Ambassador at-large M Ziauddin, Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral M Farid Habib, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Enamul Bari, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hussain Bhuiyan, PM’s Principal Secretary Shaikh Md Wahid-Uz-Zaman, IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandakar, Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Shaher Mohammad, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court and secretaries concerned also joined the iftar.
Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Charge d’ Affaires and heads of missions of different countries attended the programme.
