Palestine President Abbas to stopover at Dhaka airport

Mahmoud Abbas, the President for Palestine will stop at Dhaka airport on early Sunday during his South East Asia visit.
Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to make the stopover for an hour early Sunday on his way to Japan.

The President along with his entourage will reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12.30 am on Sunday and leave the country at 1.30 am.

Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali will receive him at the airport.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, and all the Arab Heads of Mission in Dhaka will also be present to greet him.

The visit is in appreciation of Bangladesh’s continuous support to the Palestinian cause, says the Palestinian embassy in Dhaka.

The embassy said the delegation would have a meeting with the foreign minister for “about an hour or more” at the Airport VVIP Lounge.

The immigration authorities at the airport have already been asked to take necessary steps in this regard.
